  • Skills training, either in a training institution or workplace that has been approved by JPK.
  • Conduct skills training and offer Malaysian Skills Certification for certain fields and skill levels based on the National Occupational Skills Standard (NOSS).

As the Director of Pusat Kemahiran Novas, she plays a pivotal role in advancing Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) across the country. With a steadfast commitment to workforce empowerment, Datuk Karen has been instrumental in bridging the gap between industry needs and talent development.

Drawing upon her background as Co-Founder and Managing Director of the Pusat Kemahiran Novas, Datuk Karen has championed a future-forward approach to education—one grounded in accessibility, innovation, and practical skill-building. Under her leadership, Pusat Kemahiran Novas has become a leading platform for young Malaysians seeking viable, high-impact career pathways in technical industries.

Her entrepreneurial acumen and strategic foresight are key drivers behind Pusat Kemahiran Novas expansion, and her dedication to inclusive growth continues to elevate TVET as a cornerstone of national progress.

Datin Lo Mei Lan @ Vyna Lo,

is a distinguished advocate for educational advancement in Sabah and currently serves as the Director for the Sabah Region at Pusat Kemahiran Novas. With a steadfast commitment to uplifting the state’s human capital, she has played a pivotal role in expanding access to Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) across East Malaysia.

In addition to her leadership at Novas, Datin Vyna holds key positions in public service and political engagement. She is the Permanent Deputy Chairperson of her Division and concurrently serves as the Head of the Education and Training Bureau for Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah, where she champions inclusive education policies and skills development initiatives aligned with Sabah’s socioeconomic goals.

Renowned for her efforts in bridging rural-urban education gaps, Datin Vyna has spearheaded initiatives that empower youth through practical, industry-aligned training. Her strategic oversight in Sabah has not only strengthened Novas’ regional presence but also contributed meaningfully to the broader mission of workforce readiness and community upliftment.

A respected figure in Sabah’s education and civic landscape, Datin Vyna continues to inspire through her dedication to inclusive growth, grassroots engagement, and the transformative power of education.
